I've recently started exploring the world of lucid dreaming after attending a seminar about controlling your dreams. This ability to control dreams seems fascinating and thrilling to me. However, as a parent, I've heard there might be certain things that you should avoid doing in lucid dreams to prevent potential psychological or emotional impacts. Specifically, I'm wondering what actions or thoughts to avoid while lucid dreaming to ensure a positive and enriching experience? Any guidance from those who have experience with lucid dreaming would be highly appreciated!

Hey there!

I've been lucid dreaming for a couple of years, and I must say it's an incredible experience. I would suggest avoiding anything in a dream that you find morally or ethically wrong in real life. Trying things that are against your beliefs might leave you feeling disturbed or guilty. Just enjoy the experience and explore positive and constructive scenarios.

Happy dreaming!

Hello! I've practiced lucid dreaming for over a decade and have read extensively on the subject. It's indeed an exciting journey you're embarking on. However, there are some precautions:

  • Avoid Overdoing It: Lucid dreaming every night can lead to confusion between reality and dreams and disrupt sleep quality.
  • Don't Confront Fears Without Preparation: Facing fears can be therapeutic but might also be traumatizing if done without proper care and understanding of your emotions.
  • Avoid Inappropriate or Unethical Scenarios: Engaging in activities that you consider wrong in waking life might cause guilt or distress.
  • Stay Away from Excessive Realism: Don't recreate painful or traumatic real-life events. It can have lasting emotional effects.
  • Balance Fun and Exploration: Lucid dreaming can be used for personal growth, creativity, and solving real-life problems. Enjoy the fun part but also utilize it for personal development.
  • Consult with a Professional if Needed: If you're exploring deep emotional issues, guidance from a professional might be beneficial.

Remember, every person's experience with lucid dreaming might vary. These guidelines are general and might not apply to everyone. It's often a personal journey, so feel free to explore but be mindful of these pointers to have a pleasant experience.
